Southern Arizona family keeps bobcat as pet

A baby bobcat is getting a new home after being confiscated from a family in Southern Arizona.

Arizona Game and Fish Coordinator Sandy Cate said the cat will be shipped off to a Texas zoo after the family made the mistake of taking her away from her mother and keeping her as a pet.

Cate said the bobcat is very accustomed to people, and at times, acts more like a pet than a wild animal.

She even jumped up on an ABC15 photographer and swatted at his ID badge, just like a house cat!

Cate said you should always leave baby animals alone.

Taking them is not only illegal, it ruins their chance for survival in the wild.
