Man arrested for shooting driver in Peoria road rage incident

A 24-year-old man faces multiple charges after he allegedly shot a driver in a road rage incident on Loop 101 Saturday afternoon. 

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a pickup truck being driven by Arturo Pena of Phoenix was involved in a road rage incident with a Camaro on northbound Loop 101 near Northern Avenue around 12:45 p.m. 

DPS said at least one shot from Pena's vehicle was fired at the Camaro, striking the driver.

Pena reportedly exited Loop 101 at Northern, troopers and Peoria police stopped him in the area of the Park West shopping center. 

He was taken into custody and charged with drive-by shooting, endangerment, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 

The Camaro then exited at Peoria Avenue and came to a stop.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, there is no word yet on their condition.
