Phoenix police: Man steals 3 AR-15 rifles from Walmart

PHOENIX - Authorities are looking for a suspect who took three AR-15 rifles from a Wal-Mart store in Phoenix last week, according to police.

Officer James R. Holmes, spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, said the suspect forced entry into the Wal-Mart store near 19th Avenue and Bell Road around 3:50 a.m. on Friday.

The suspect grabbed a cart, walked to the sporting goods section where he allegedly grabbed the weapons, and then covered the cart with cardboard, according to the release.

The suspect fled the store through the same door he entered.

The suspect is described by police as a Black or Hispanic male, 5 foot 8 inches, between 160-200 pounds and bald.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

No other details were released.
