The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect from an armed robbery.

Police say an unknown suspect entered a Walgreens near 7th Street and McDowell Road on Tuesday August 30 around 7:15 a.m.

According to police, the suspect pretended to purchase a packet of gum in order for the clerk to open the register, then he pulled a pistol from under his sweater and demanded all the cash from the drawer.

After receiving the cash from the register the suspect fled in a maroon 4-door car, possibly a 2000 model Mercury Sable.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, around 5 foot 9 inches, seen wearing a green camouflage hooded sweater, baseball cap, sunglasses, and was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Phoenix police or can leave an anonymous tip with Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
