PHOENIX - Police say a man who was shot by his roommate while moving out of their north Phoenix apartment Sunday night has died.
According to Phoenix police Officer James Holmes, the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. near Cactus Road and 43rd Avenue.
Officers found 47-year-old William Locke unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound in his vehicle, Holmes said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After an investigation, police reportedly determined Locke was in the process of moving out when he and his roommate, 47-year-old Gary McGill, got into an altercation.
McGill obtained a handgun at some point and shot Locke, according to Holmes. The investigation indicates the argument was over money.
