PHOENIX - Police have arrested seven people they say are part of an outlaw motorcycle gang after an assault outside a Phoenix bar in March.
Phoenix police said in an email that on March 19, 2014 officers responded to a bar near 11th Avenue and Bell Road where a 27-year-old man and 33-year-old woman said they’d been victims of an assault.
The couple said they’d been inside the bar when a male came up to the woman and insulted her.
The woman’s boyfriend tried to defend her and was ultimately assaulted by a group of people.
Police say the victims had tried to leave the bar, but both were assaulted and held by the group of suspects in the parking lot.
Phoenix police detectives from the Assaults and Gang Enforcement Unit began looking into the case and identified the seven individuals.
Police say the suspects, four males and three females, are part of an outlaw motorcycle gang who engage in criminal activity.
They were arrested Wednesday morning after officers served search warrants at five north Phoenix locations.
The suspects allegedly involved in the incident face charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and assisting a criminal street gang.
Police said additional arrests are possible.
