A serial burglar was busted in North Phoenix after leading police on a chase into a busy hospital.

The suspect may have found another victim if not for Erin Sherman. She came out to close her garage door and found the suspect inside her garage.

She says he tried to talk his way out of it but it didn't add up.

"I said to him, 'Why are you in my garage?' and he started asking questions of how to get out of the neighborhood like 'I go right, left, did I turn the wrong way?'" Sherman said.

She was sure he was planning to break in so as soon as he got back his truck she got his license plate number and called police.

In 15 minutes officers had spotted him, chased him down and eventually had her identify him once he's been arrested.

"While I was scared of what happened to me, I didn't think it'd be that big a deal, that he'd try to run from police."

Phoenix police believe he's behind several other burglaries.

The suspect hadn't yet been identified.
