PHOENIX - Investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire in North Phoenix.
Phoenix fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra said firefighters responded to a call Sunday around 2 p.m. near 31st and Grovers avenues where they found smoke coming from the attic of the house and fire on the back end of the house.
Saavedra said the homeowner reported he heard a “pop” and noticed smoke coming from the attached storage unit of the home.
The homeowner and his family got out of the house and firefighters quickly put out the fire.
Saavedra said the fire was unique in that the home had a metal roof. He said that can pose many safety hazards for firefighters.
Saavedra said in this case there were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters.
The fire is being investigated by Phoenix Fire arson investigators.
