PHOENIX - Police have identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by a car at a Phoenix intersection Monday morning.
Phoenix police responded to the accident at 28th Drive and Peoria Avenue around 7:45 a.m.
Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department said the driver of a black Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on Peoria Avenue in the middle lane when he experienced a problem with his sun visor and was attempting to adjust it while driving.
He failed to stop for a red light at 28th Avenue and collided with 67-year-old Frank Joseph Frassetto, who was crossing the roadway within the marked crosswalk on the west side of the intersection, said Martos.
Frassetto was transported to a nearby hospital where he died.
Martos said the driver of the vehicle was not injured and was not impaired.
