PHOENIX - Police are now investigating after a teenager was pulled from a North Phoenix pool Saturday night.
Phoenix fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan said crews responded to the home near Cave Creek and Beardsley roads around 9:30 p.m. for a call of a 15-year-old who had been found in the pool.
The caller reportedly said the teen wasn't breathing and had been in the pool for an unknown length of time, according to Phoenix Fire.
The boy was identified by police Saturday as Trevon Brown.
According to Phoenix Fire, the boy was with a group of friends and started shaking and convulsing in the water.
Steve Martos with Phoenix Police says the friends got distracted, but saw him unresponsive in the pool. The friends were able to quickly pull him out and call police.
The parents who were inside at the time of the incident said they didn’t know what had happened.
Paramedics treated the victim with advanced life support before transporting him to a local hospital where he was in extremely critical condition and died shortly after, police say.
Detectives are not suspecting foul play at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
