PHOENIX - Firefighters were able to keep a fire that started outside a Phoenix home from spreading on Sunday.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Scott Walker said the family was home when one of the young children came inside and told the father that the backyard was on fire.
The dad called 911 and got everyone out of the home near 35th and Dunlap avenues.
Crews arrived to find a shed fully involved with fire extending to the home.
Firefighters worked to keep the fire from extending further and prevented it from moving to the house next door.
The family of five was uninjured and will be able to stay in their home, Walker said.
There was no word on the cause of the fire.
