In a small warehouse tucked away in north Phoenix, another TOMCAR is about to be assembled.

This business has been building and rolling out military vehicles since 1991.

"My dad was the original inventor of the vehicle back in the 60's and 70's as a special ops officer," said Ram Zarchi who now heads up the company. "You can say I was born into it. It's actually named after my brother Tom."

Zarchi's father started the business in Israel, building them for the Israili defense forces. Now TOMCAR is based in north Phoenix where consumers are getting in on what the ATV can offer.

"Your brain will take about  5 to 10 minutes to re-wire," said Zarchi. "You're going to keep anticipating the hit but it never comes."

Zarchi said the ATV is actually intended for war. The machine doesn't have any plastic and is meant to withstand thousands of hours of abuse with no maintenance.

Zarchi said that is a selling point for consumers.

A typical TOMCAR starts around $25,000. The ATV is available at Sanderson Ford in the Valley or you can contact TOMCAR directly.
