Car wash to be held for Officer Daryl Raetz and firefighter Brad Harper

PHOENIX - Several organizations will get together next Wednesday to hold a charity car wash to benefit the families of a fallen Phoenix police officer and Phoenix firefighter.

Officer Daryl Raetz was killed last Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle during a DUI traffic stop.

Firefighter Brad Harper was accidentally crushed between two fire vehicles while fighting a fire in South Phoenix last Saturday.

The car wash will be held at the Tatum Boulevard and Cactus Road Danny's Family Car Wash location.

Free car washes will be given for donations between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. One hundred percent of the donations will be used to benefit the families of Raetz and Harper.

In addition, officers and firefighters will be collecting donations on the corners of Tatum and Shea boulevards, Tatum Boulevard and Cactus Road, and Tatum Boulevard and Greenway Road during the event.

The Sheriff's Memorial Fund, The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA), and the Phoenix Fire Department will be participating in the event along with Danny's Family Car Wash.
