PHOENIX - A controversial new coffee shop had its grand opening Saturday in Phoenix.
Bikini Beans Espresso is a drive-thru business located near 7th and Oak Streets.
The female baristas serve up coffee beverages while in bikinis.
The menu features drinks ordered in "cup" sizes.
Owners Ben and Regina Lyles say in their hometown of Seattle, similar concept businesses are “on every corner.”
Critics have said the business degrades women, but Regina says she feels quite the opposite way.
She said, “These girls are working here by choice. If anything, I think it's empowering to women to feel confident enough to put on a bikini and go to work."
The couple currently has 13 employees and hopes to expand their business in the future.
