Arizona Humane Society donation box stolen, door shattered at Sunnyslope Campus in Phoenix

PHOENIX - The Arizona Humane Society says vandals stole a donation box filled with cash Wednesday morning at the Sunnyslope Campus in Phoenix.

Employees arrived at the location near Dunlap and 19th avenues to find the adoption lobby broken into and vandalized, according to Ashliegh Goebel with the Arizona Humane Society.

She said the break-in likely happened sometime between midnight and 6 a.m.

The front glass door was shattered, and a donation box containing about $150 to $200 in cash donations was stolen, Goebel said.

No animals were hurt, but Goebel said it's disappointing to lose the donations left by their supporters.

Anyone interested in making a donation to help cover the cost of damages can go to or call 602-997-7586.
