PHOENIX - Three people were treated for smoke inhalation from a fire that burned two apartments in North Phoenix Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Beardsley Road around 8:30 p.m. where they found a working fire on the first and second floors of a three-story building.
Phoenix fire Capt. Jonathan Jacobs said the fire was knocked down quickly, but residents in those two apartments and the one above will be displaced for the night.
He said the apartment on the third floor sustained smoke damage.
Jacobs said three people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and likely wouldn't be transported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
