PHOENIX - Authorities say a woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a central Phoenix street Thursday morning.
Police say the victim was not in a crosswalk when she crossed 7th Street near Dunlap just before 6 a.m.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and police say he is shaken up. They added that it doesn't appear he was at fault.
The victim was taken to John C. Lincoln Hospital where she died.
The victim was identified Friday as 44-year-old Lorena Sanchez.
Police said the driver is not facing charges.
