Winter storms may cause holiday travel headaches

PHOENIX - Winter weather has already wreaked havoc across the country for early holiday travelers and now forecasters are talking about two more storms.

If you're traveling on Christmas Eve, you'll likely miss the mess but getting home could be problematic.

Forecasters are tracking two major storms that could cause travel delays over the next five days.

The storm that's already dumped rain and snow in California is expected to get stronger and head east.

Another storm could hit much of the country during the peak travel time after Christmas, said forecasters.

They expect the South, Midwest and East Coast to get the brunt of the snow.

Travel is going smoothly at Sky Harbor one day before Christmas, but be sure to check online or call your carrier before heading out.

AAA expects nearly 137,000 Arizonans to travel over the next few days.
