Cyber Monday: Watch out for fake shopping websites on Cyber Monday

PHOENIX - Criminals are working hard to scam you during Cyber Monday.  Agents with ICE's Homeland Security's cyber division want you to watch out for fake websites that are just trying to take your personal information and your money.

Commonly these sites will have misspelling in the URL's name.  Also they will typically end in a .net instead of the .com.

If you are making a payment, fake sites will typically redirect you to a completely different site.  Sometimes the payment site will have a different URL.

Also fake sites typically don't have contact information.  So if you can't find a phone number or anything about their refund policy, then you probably are on a fake site.

If you find a fake site, you can report it to the International Property Rights Center.
