PHOENIX - Walmart's "12 Days of Giving" campaign is once again in full swing, ready to reward local nonprofit organizations for their outstanding service throughout their communities.
Across the country, $1.5 million will be rewarded to charities.
Phoenix Facebook users are urged to get online and nominate their favorite nonprofit organization to receive a grant as part of the "12 Days of Giving" program.
Organizations can be selected through nominations by local residents who prepare a 200-word description of the organization and their impact on the community. Photos can also be shared through the Walmart "12 Days of Giving" Facebook page.
A panel will review the nominated organizations who deserve these grants and will select the winners, announcing them from Dec. 10 to Dec. 21, according to a news release.
Last year, 5,400 nonprofit organizations were nominated and 145 were selected.
Among those chosen were Purple Heart Homes and Cradles to Crayons, organizations aimed towards helping veterans and children in need.
