Visually impaired Valley runner in Boston for marathon

PHOENIX - A Valley runner has a unique view on the Boston Marathon.
Brooke Voss ran the marathon last year and is in Boston again, anxious to be able to finish this time around.
"Those last meters need to be completed," she said.
For Brooke, running in any marathon was something she never imagined she'd ever do.
She is visually impaired.
Boston 2013 was her second marathon. She runs with the help of a guide, her long time friend Colleen Venti, who was with her last year and will be with her again on Monday.
"It is important for me to see Brooke finish," she said.
Voss is running to raise money for other disabled athletes. She is one of several Arizona runners who are running the Boston Marathon.
At Runner's Den in north Phoenix, a special event is taking place to coincide with the marathon.
Runners are running their own "treadmill marathon" that will start at the same time the race in Boston starts.
The event is also a fundraiser that the owners of Runner's Den began last year.
