Vehicle with children inside crashes after DPS pursuit in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Two men are in custody after a pursuit involving DPS early Thursday morning in Phoenix.

DPS said an officer was monitoring traffic when a vehicle traveled passed him at just under 100MPH. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not stop, which caused a pursuit.

The vehicle eventually crashed near the SR-51 and Bethany Home Road off-ramp, DPS said. Two men jumped out of the vehicle and were put into custody by DPS and Phoenix police officers.

Officials also found an adult female and two children under the age of two years old in the car.

Authorities are investigating if drugs or alcohol played a role in this incident.

The driver of the vehicle and the female passenger are the parents of the children inside the car.

There were no injuries reported.
