PHOENIX - A Phoenix woman's lifelong dream to attend the Rose Parade in Pasadena was made impossible after a terminal cancer diagnosis in January. But since she couldn't make it to the parade, her friends brought the parade to her.
MaryBeth Brutsman had no idea her loved ones were planning the surprise outside her home on Sunday evening.
"Wow," she said as she approached the recreated parade.
MaryBeth was crowned the Rose Queen and waved to the crowd of people who came to support her.
The organizers of the actual Rose Parade sent gifts and volunteers spent hours coordinating the flowers
"What I hope is that through the pain she's feeling right now, she can see through that and just feel deeply loved," said MaryBeth's daughter-in-law, Debby Brutsman.
