Valley teen reports groping inside Fear Farm haunted house

PHOENIX - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a Valley teenager said she was groped inside a  haunted house Saturday night.

The 16-year-old girl told Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies she was inside Fear Farm at 99th Avenue and McDowell Road when someone, believed to be another visitor to the haunted house, grabbed her from behind.

The teen was reportedly able to find a security guard who alerted police.

Doug Ricker, the teen's father, told ABC15 that parents should be on alert and talk with their kids.

"Somebody should counsel them before they go in there, absolutely, on how to recognize possibly a problem or person that doesn't fit in," Ricker said. "I believe this is sometimes very difficult for young people to do."

Ricker said his daughter was shaken up by the incident but not hurt. He admits it's unlikely anybody will get caught.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Department officials said they are investigating the incident.
