Valley Red Cross volunteers head to Washington fires

PHOENIX - Valley Red Cross volunteers are assisting fire victims in Washington.
Flo Hencken and Jean Currey left Sky Harbor International Airport Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. for Seattle.
There are currently 12 fires burning in the state and over the past several weeks more than 300 homes have been destroyed.
More urgent evacuation notices were issued over the past day.
The two will join two other volunteers from Arizona who are already there. Two others just returned home.
The volunteers usually get a day or less notice before leaving to respond to a disaster.
Hencken and Currey will spend three weeks in Washington helping families who have lost homes.
