Valley parents react to shooting in Connecticut

PHOENIX - Parents here in the Valley visibly shaken in the wake of the shooting in Connecticut.
Schools Valley-wide were flooded with calls from parents wanting to know their kids were safe. ABC15 learned of only a very few who actually pulled their kids out of school but many parents were tempted.
"My husband texted and we decided to leave work early and pickup when school let out," said Valli Van Dam, a parent in the Kyrene School District.  "I just couldn't stay at work. I want to hug them."
Some parents expressed frustration some saying they want all schools to have metal detectors, others who said they've even considered home schooling.
Many school districts sent home letters and information to parents about their individual safety policies and procedures.
