Valley parents divided on issue of gun control

PHOENIX - The gun issue and school safety have lawmakers and parents split on the best way to handle both problems.

Increased patrols, and even school resource officers are just some of the ideas being looked at this legislative session.

ABC15 spoke to some Valley parents to find out what they want done on both issues.

"We need tougher gun laws. And I wouldn't mind if there was an armed officer in the school," said parent Emmie Guinn.

Another parent, Eric Liebe said: "You can't disarm evil. I don't know what the solution is, but having more guns on school property is not the answer."

Most of the parents we talked to said doing something is better than nothing.
