Valley light rail riders take part in 'No Pants Day'

Light rail riders across the Valley braved the cold to take part in the 5th Annual No Pants Light Rail Ride in Phoenix Sunday afternoon.

The annual event is not just for the Valley, public transportation riders across the country participate in the event.

The Phoenix Police Department says it is not illegal to wear your underwear in public. Participants were warned that they were responsible for their own actions in this year's event.

The pants-less crews met at one of three starting points along the light rail.

The Sycamore and Main station in Mesa rode to the Roosevelt and Central station, the 38th Street and Washington station rode west to Thomas and Central station, and the 19th Ave and Montebello station to the 3rd Street and Jefferson station.

An estimated 1,000 people took part in today's event.
