A Valley couple is taking action to help a lost dog get home to Nebraska.

Duke's owners were involved in a car crash here in the Valley, but have since moved across country.

Duke wound up at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and needed a ride to the midwest. Danielle Boyle and her husband Jerod answered the call to spread a little holiday cheer.

“I'd want someone to do it if it was my dog, and if he was to get away from me, so I think it's the right thing to do, and it would be nice to have your family home for the holidays," said Danielle.

Boyle says she and her husband love to drive so they figured, why not do some good with a simple road trip?

Needless to say, Duke's owners are extremely grateful for the couple's random act of kindness.
