Phoenix Post Office officials say a stolen mailbox has been found not far from where it went missing.
The United States Postal Service says the blue collection box was stolen Friday night or early Saturday and a $10,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Postal Inspector Greg Torbenson says a postal worker last collected mail at the box, located near 35th Avenue and West Earll Drive around 4 p.m. on Friday, May 30. Sometime after that, the collection bin was removed.
Postal Inspector Greg Torbenson says the mailbox was found Tuesday in an alley near 35th Avenue and West Earll Drive.
Torbenson says the box was damaged and there was no mail inside.
The Postal Inspection Service is asking customers who deposited mail after May 30 to call the Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 and file a mail theft complaint.
Officials said the Postal Service will install a replacement collection box at the location.
