U.S. News and World Report ranks Mayo Clinic No. 1 in Phoenix and Arizona

PHOENIX - The Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix was ranked number one in Arizona and Phoenix by the 25th U.S. News and World Report annual "America's Best Hospital List."

The list, that was released Tuesday, includes an elite group of hospitals that are recognized for their excellence.

Mayo Clinic in Arizona has been recognized as high-performing in diabetes and endocrinology.

The hospital has also ranked nationally in 10 specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.

"Mayo Clinic has a long tradition and deep organizational commitment to delivering high-value health care that best meets patients' needs," Dr. Wyatt Decker, vice president and chief executive officer for Mayo Clinic in Arizona, said. "We take great pride in developing the most innovative treatments and care delivery models in an effort to best serve out patients."

The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., was ranked the Best Hospital in the United States.
