PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information on the abandoned puppy who had his ears cut.

A 7-week-old puppy was brought toa Mesa animal shelter on July 8th with his ears mutilated.

Police officials believe the suspect tried to crop the dog’s ears, a very painful mutilation, possibly with scissors.

Police are investigating the incident, but have not made any arrests yet. PETA is urging the public to help with any information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of whomever did this.

The puppy, now named Piston, is currently receiving veterinary care and has been placed in a foster home.

Anyone with information can call the Avondale Police Department’s Animal Control hotline at 623-333-7345.
