PHOENIX - One person is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning in Phoenix near 40th Street and Southern Avenue, according to police.
A Phoenix Police officer was patrolling in the area when gunshots were heard. While investigating the gunshots, the officer discovered two victims in the front yard of a home.
Police say the victims arrived at the home in a vehicle after 3 a.m. A 35-year-old man somehow got in an argument with two unknown suspects and was shot while getting out of the car.
A 28-year-old woman in the vehicle was also shot, but was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her arm.
The 35-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to his torso and later died after being transported to the hospital.
Officers reportedly searched the area for the shooting suspects, described as two Hispanic men, but were unable to locate anyone.
The investigation is ongoing and police are trying to get more information.
