PHOENIX - Senator Jeff Flake and Senator John McCain will get hand-delivered messages Friday morning.
Mayors Against Illegal Guns, shooting victims, faith leaders and other grass roots organizations will give the Arizona senators more than 30,000 gun violence petitions at 10 a.m.
It's part of their effort to encourage lawmakers to change our current gun laws.
More than 1.75 million petitions have been signed across the country and will be delivered in all 50 states.
The petitions call for Congress to pass common sense gun reform legislation that will require a criminal background check for all gun sales, ban assault weapons and high capacity ammunition and make gun trafficking a federal crime.
Alex Teves, who's son was killed in the Aurora theater, will help deliver the petitions in Phoenix while Tucson shooting survivors, Ken Dorushka, Nancy Bowman and Daniel Hernandez Junior, will do so in Tucson.
