PHOENIX - Police are looking for the person who shot a teen outside a Phoenix home over the weekend.
Officers were called to a home near 79th Avenue and Indian School Road for a call of 'shots fired' around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police said 19-year-old Fabian Cano had been attending a friend's party and was standing on the rear patio of the home when gunshots were fired from the front of the house.
Cano suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. Monday.
Cano's murder is devastating to his family.
"I will never rest until this person is found," said his mother, Pamela Coss. "This was my only son. My only one and my whole world has been taken away from me."
They described him as a person always willing to back up his friends and be there for his mother and family without hesitation.
His family said his death is made worse by what he leaves behind and that his girlfriend is pregnant. "He's not going to be able to know his child," said Coss.
Police said they have very little to go on and don't know if the home was targeted or it was a random act of gunfire.
The Phoenix Police Department is asking anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS to leave an anonymous tip.
