PHOENIX - Taylor Swift's topping the charts once again with a brand new song about a boy.
But, unlike her other tunes about former flames, this song is different because this boy is from the Valley and lost his battle with cancer days before his fourth birthday.
Swift performed the song at the "Stand Up To Cancer" telethon on Friday night and the song went viral soon after .
Maya Thompson's bold blog full of raw emotion about losing her son to cancer initially caught Swift's eye, and just days ago, she learned of the hit song, lovingly titled "Ronan" in honor of her son.
"He is absolutely the love of my life. He's such a fighter and he went through so much and never gave up until the second I told him it was time to stop fighting and just let go," Thompson said.
The hardest thing a mother will ever have to do has been captured in the lyrics of a song that will be heard all over the world. But, what makes this song so special, is it finally gives a voice and a face to childhood cancer.
"It's time people start to listen so it can get the funding and attention it deserves," Thompson said of the disease.
But, even after such loss and such devastation, Maya learned she's been given another gift -- life in the form of a baby due in April.
While the pain of losing Ronan will always be with her, she chose a path of strength through her blog, inspiring Swift, who's now inspiring the world with the greatest love story ever told.
