Suspicious device found at Safeway in Central Phoenix

PHOENIX - A suspicious device was found in the parking lot of a Safeway in Central Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.

Police say they found a live device, and it was successfully detonated by the bomb squad outside the store on 5th avenue and Osborn.

When Phoenix police arrived on scene they evacuated the parking lot surrounding the store.

According to police, a passerby found the device right outside the grocery store.

There are no reports of damages or injuries at this time, and police do not have any information on a potential suspect.
