Suspect sought in Valley car, jewelry theft

PHOENIX - Silent Witness is asking for help in solving a case involving a suspect driving a stolen car to a jewelry store and stealing a ring.

According to Phoenix police, the suspect first stole a 2008 Chevy Impala on March 13 from a dealership parking lot near Camelback Road and 12th Street.

The suspect then apparently drove to a jewelry store in north Scottsdale and entered under the ruse of shopping for rings.

When he was allowed to handle a ring, he reportedly ran out of the store and drove away. At one point he allegedly drove wildly in reverse and almost collided with another vehicle.

A witness got the license plate number of the vehicle, which was used to locate the stolen car. However, the suspect was not found.
