PHOENIX - Police say a stabbing victim is in extremely critical condition after an attack in Phoenix Tuesday morning.
Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said the victim and the suspect got off a city bus with a group of people around 7 a.m. near Indian School Road and Central Avenue and had a brief verbal altercation. The suspect then stabbed the victim.
Witnesses helped the victim and were able to give police a description of the suspect.
Officers were able to take the suspect into custody, but police said the suspect was not talking.
The victim is in extremely critical condition at a local hospital as of Tuesday morning.
No motive has been given for the stabbing. Crump said the victim is in his 50s and the suspect is in his mid-40s.
