Stolen Boston Terrier, 'Beacon,' returned to owner, Julie Larsen, after 'Missing Dog' flyers posted

PHOENIX - A Boston Terrier stolen last Thursday night from a Phoenix home has been returned to its owner.

"This is the best Christmas present ever," said the dog's owner, Julie Larsen.

After the burglary, Larsen talked to ABC15 pleading with the criminal to return her pet, even offering a $1,500 reward for its safe return.

The dog named "Beacon," is deaf and is only one-year-old, Larsen told ABC15 from her home near 36th Street and Thomas Road.

After posting flyers around her neighborhood throughout the weekend, Larsen received a call on Tuesday from a man who believed he have found "Beacon."

"I said, ‘Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me.'"

Larsen told ABC15 the man who returned the dog, purchased it for $200 from a stranger in front of liquor store near 35th Street and McDowell Road.

He did not know the animal had been stolen until he noticed the flyers.

Phoenix police are investigating, trying to locate the thief.
