St. Mary's Food Bank in need of canned goods

Arizona's St. Mary's Food Bank is in need of canned food items.

As the weather warms up, St. Mary's is working really hard to do what it can to help out families across the state.

Roughly 30,000 emergency food boxes were handed out during this time last year. Currently, that number has grown to nearly 40,000. Most of the holiday donations have already been distributed.

One couple ABC15's Steve Irvin spoke to said this is their first time going to a food bank and that they just need a bit of help to get buy.

"Full time job. Twelve hours a day. Rent, car payments; sometimes it's hard to put food on the table"

Each dollar that's donated to St. Mary's can help supply seven meals. They also could used canned items, such as healthy vegetables, beans and peanut butter.

There are donation bins at all 55 Arizona Goodwill locations.
