Thousands getting power back after storms slam parts of the Valley

PHOENIX - Power is being restored to neighborhoods after strong storms moved through the Valley Sunday afternoon.

According to Salt River Project, around 150 customers in Tempe were still without power as of 8:30 p.m. They said power should be restored by 11 p.m.

Just before 8 p.m. Arizona Public Service reported about 200 people were without power in Chandler. They are all expected to be back on line tonight.

Initial estimates were that approximately 7,000 people had been without power.

Viewers sent in photos showing uprooted trees, flooded backyards and overturned backyard furniture, including grills, patio chairs, and a trampoline.
