Silent Witness seeks suspect in attempted robbery of purse

PHOENIX - A 58-year-old woman was dragged down a Phoenix street after a man attempted to take her purse, according to police.

Silent Witness is attempting to identify a suspect who allegedly tried to rob a woman of her purse on Wednesday, July 4 near 16th Street and Bethany Home in Phoenix.

According to the police report, the woman was walking down a sidewalk when a Hispanic male approached her from behind and grabbed her purse.

The woman held onto her purse and was dragged down the sidewalk until the suspect eventually let go and fled the scene, according to police. The suspect fled in a white Pontiac Grand Am car.

The suspect is describe as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, 5-foot-11, and 220 pounds, according to the police report. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts.
