Silent Witness looking for suspect who stole beer from Circle K, led officer on foot pursuit

PHOENIX - Silent Witness is looking for information regarding an individual who stole beer from a Circle K store and escaped a foot pursuit with police in June. 

According to a media release, an individual took beer from a Circle K near 19th and Campbell avenues around 6 p.m. on June 21. An officer heard the call over the radio and went to investigate the situation.

The responding officer saw a man carrying cases of beer who matched the suspect description walking northbound on 19th Avenue.

The suspect then walked up to the officer's marked vehicle, placed the cases of beer on the hood and walked toward the Tierra Villa Apartments near 19th Avenue and Elm Street.

The officer followed the man into the complex but the suspect led the officer on a pursuit and ran through the pedestrian gate. The suspect closed the gate on the officer's arm and escaped.

He is described as a Native American around 25 years old, about 5'10'' and 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and pitted acne scars.

The suspect was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, denim shorts and a dark baseball cap.
