PD: 1 injured in shooting near 27th avenue and Indian School

PHOENIX - One person is recovering in the hospital after an early morning shooting in Phoenix on Tuesday.

According to Phoenix police, the shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Officials believe a group of people were walking in the area when a car approached them and they got into an altercation.

Police said shots were fired during the altercation, officials believe everyone at the scene knew each other.

One person was shot and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other information is known at the time.
