Sheriff Joe Arpaio governor: Arpaio says he will make his decision in two weeks

PHOENIX - Will Sheriff Joe run for governor?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced on Tuesday morning he will make his decision in two weeks.

Arpaio made the remark while testifying during the "Mickey the Pitbull" case in Phoenix.

In January, Chad Willems, Arpaio's campaign manager, said the Elect Sheriff Joe Arpaio committee collected over 78,000 contributions and raised $3.5 million in the last 12 months. The average contribution was about $45.

"These numbers tell the story that the Sheriff and his policies are more popular than ever," Willems stated.

Arpaio said he is also pleased with the record contributions.
