Salvation Army volunteers help deliver 2,200 meals in Valley

PHOENIX - Thousands of people in the Valley received a special delivery on Thanksgiving.

Salvation Army volunteers helped deliver 2,200 meals to low income and homebound individuals throughout the Valley on Thursday.

The meal included turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, a roll, and dessert.

Most of the food comes from donations.

While many people consider Thanksgiving a family holiday, a spokesperson for the Salvation Army said for some recipients the volunteers will be the only people they see on Thanksgiving.
