PHOENIX - Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Phoenix Police Chief Daniel Garcia passed out silent witness flyers during a "Zero Violence" walk on Friday.
The walk was organized by city officials after four people were gunned down in their front yard during a drive-by shooting last week. One person was killed in the result of that shooting.
They are hoping the walk will not only bring the community together, but also generate tips on finding the shooters.
Regina Cancino has lived in the neighborhood for three years. She says incidents like the one that happened last week is why she stays indoors.
"You just never know, if you are walking by someone's house and something happens to them and you get caught in the middle of it. It makes me nervous," said Cancino.
She says gun fire can be heard every night and many of the crimes are drug related.
"I just hope it gets better," said Cancino.
