PHOENIX - Tricia Osterman received a special present for Christmas this year.
Tricia's cat Sophia went missing seven years ago from her home in Phoenix. This past weekend she got a phone call from the San Diego Humane Society.
Sophia had made her way about 400 miles west to San Diego. The nine-year-old cat was brought to the Humane Society after a family realized they could not care for her anymore.
The Humane Society scanned to see if there was a microchip on Sophia that would give them any information. They did indeed find a microchip on Sophia and it matched Tricia's information. The Humane Society contacted Tricia, who was completely shocked to hear Sophia had been found.
On Wednesday, Tricia went to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to anxiously await the arrival of her cat. It was an emotional day for Tricia, as tears of joy streamed down from her face.
"It's a Christmas miracle," she said.
