A fire in a downtown Phoenix building forced fire crews to shut off power to the structure.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, smoke was found in the subfloors of one of the two Renaissance office buildings near Central Avenue and Washington Street shortly after noon.
Crews found an electrical vault on fire and were able to extinguish the flames, but power in the building was shut off.
Because the power was off, crews weren't able to use the building's air system to push the smoke out, so fans were brought in to help clear it out.
Crews were working in zero visibility conditions, officials said.
A utility company was called out to the scene and is trying to restore power back to the structure.
Not many people were in the building at the time, however some were evacuated.
According to Valley Metro, the fire impacted the westbound light rail service for a few minutes, but all tracks were later reopened. However, slight delays are possible as fire crews continue to investigate the incident.
